Women's Hockey League
WHLB Code of Conduct & League Rules

Each player in the WHLB will adhere to the following Code of Conduct and League Rules or face disciplinary action.

Code of Conduct
  1. Everyone MUST adhere to all posted Valley Associates, Inc. Rules and Regulations.
  2. NO VERBAL, PHYSICAL OR MENTAL ABUSE OF OFFICIALS, STAFF, SPECTATORS, PLAYERS OR OTHERWISE WILL BE TOLERATED AND WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE EJECTION FROM THE VALLEY FORUM ICE RINKS FOR AN INDEFINITE PERIOD OF TIME.
  3. THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED INSIDE THE ARENA.
  4. Referee interpretations are absolute and final.
  5. Any player caught playing unregistered or under suspension is suspended from play in the WHLB. The suspension is for the remainder of the current season and one (1) additional year.
  6. Any individual found or assumed to be intoxicated may be asked to leave and not participate in activities for the evening. Referees may order players to leave the game if a player is suspect to intoxication during the game.  If any individuals is asked to leave repeated times, that individual may be ejected from the Valley Forum for an indefinite period of time.
  7. No protests will be allowed regarding rule interpretations or judgment calls made by game officials. Only team captains have the right to protest games.
  8. WHLB management decisions are final.
Rules

Penalties:

  • Minor = 1 Minute and 30 Seconds
  • Major = 5 Minutes
  • Misconduct = 10 Minutes
  1. Three (3) penalties will result in the ejection of that game.
  2. Upon a players third (3 minor penalty game), the player will be suspended for one (1) game.
  3. Upon a players fifth (3 minor penalty game), the player will meet with WHLB management for review of suspension.
  4. Any player who is has been ejected from a game must leave the ice, bench and/or penalty box immediately. Any remaining penalty time, for the offending player, will be served by another player who was on the ice at the time of offense.
  5. Any player receiving a “Deliberate Attempt to Injure” penalty will be suspended immediately, for a minimum of one (1) game (not including the rest of the game in which it is assessed).
  6. Body checking is prohibited. Incidental contact may or may not result in a penalty based upon the discretion of the official.
  7. FIGHTING will result in a SEASON ENDING SUSPENSION, without a refund.
  8. Any player verbally harassing or striking a referee, timekeeper, player or any league official will be automatically suspended from participating in the current WHLB season without a refund.
  9. Standings Tie Breaker -
    1. Head to Head results against teams tied
    2. Goals Differential Head to Head between teams tied
    3. Most Wins
    4. Goals Differential in all games
